In keeping with our music education philosophy, we recommend students take creative dance before entering the rigors of serious ballet and tap classes. All of our "pre" dance classes incorporate this philosophy. A child who can learn creative expression and spatial concepts first, becomes a more competent ballet dancer. A student who learns to have a strong steady beat to different styles and tempos of music and can echo a variety of rhythms and rhythmic combinations will certainly be a stronger tapper when the time comes!
We offer a variety of dance styles such as Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Creative Dance and Musical Theatre for the mover and shaker in your family!
Our Drama classes help promote literacy, critical thinking skills, problem solving, planning and creativity in all our students.
No experience is necessary to get started today! Our recitals are in the spring/summer. We boast a quadruple floating dance floor to reduce injuries and ensure comfort while dancing. Watch the classes on a monitor in our relaxed, air conditioned lobby.
We feel every dancer's journey is unique and each should have the space and time to explore their creativity and the distinct capabilities of their bodies.

The Difference between Jazz Dance and Hip Hop
Jazz Dance can be found in Broadway shows. It is a more structured, stage style of dance. Hip Hop is the kind of dance style one sees in music videos with high energy dancing and is more improvisational. We are combining these two most favorite types of dance in the intro classes Pre jazz / Hip Hop. We have found that learning the structured elements of Jazz helps students develop the coordination and balance needed for hip hop.
FAQ:
1. How long are the classes?
All classes are 45 minutes in length, except Hip
Hop classes which are 55minutes in length.
2. Do you have a dress code?
The dress code is comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. No street shoes are allowed in the dance room.
3. I would like to enter my 3 year old in ballet. Do you have a class?
Just as in private music lessons, we feel starting preschoolers in a strict ballet class is counter intuitive. At this age, children are still learning all concepts through their bodies and many times, the structure of ballet can be so restrictive to them and feel unnatural. This preschool age is such a magical time when imaginations are truly on fire. Students may learn some ballet terminology but the focus will be on what they can explore and create from their own imagination starting with movement that comes most natural to them. The dance, though sequential, will be very child centered and most of all, exciting, fun and engaging!
4. My son wants to dance. Are the classes for girls only?
Absolutely not! One of the reasons we love the creative movement and dance concept so much is that it lends itself to all students regardless whether they are a boy or a girl. Grace and balance as well as powerful and dynamic creative movement will be explored in all classes.
5. What kind of dance floor do you have?
We have a state of the art “floating floor”. This diminishes the chance of injuries or physical fatigue.
