Stimulate your baby’s natural response to music! Parents and babies learn rhymes, songs, lullabies, floor and lap games. Dance, shake and play together to an array of musical styles and genres. Your baby will develop important listening and motor skills. There is an emphasis on steady pulse with many steady beat activities for babies to develop sense of balance and timing. No musical experience is necessary! Watch their language development soar! Adult participation required
Family Music
Play, Sing, Drum, Shake, Rhyme, Rock and Dance- no experience is necessary for this eclectic music and movement class! Embrace an array of musical styles and genres. Music makes a difference! Join your child in the joy of music making in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Adult participation required
Multi-age Music and Movement
This music and movement class is perfect for families with a child not yet in pre-school or one who has had preschool but not a lot of experience in a guided music and movement class. While very similar to our other pre-school classes, parent or caregiver will be present throughout class, providing an active model during activities and playing an important role in the child's discovery of music and movement. Younger children will not only learn from parents, but from the older children around them. See above description of Family Music class.
Preschool Music and Movement
Imagination! Preschoolers live in a rich world full of wonder and excitement. This world is a big part of this ideal music and movement class. Students will experience different genres of music while learning about steady pulse, singing on pitch, rhythm echos, instrument playing, dancing and creative story telling through music and movement.
Intro to Music Fundamentals
Before a child studies a specific instrument, it is so important to have certain musical fundamentals in place. In addition to singing, playing dancing and rhyming, beginning rhythm reading and writing begins in this class.
Music Fundamentals “Pick an Instrument”
The goal in this class is to have students prepared for a positive private instruction experience when they are ready. This class builds on the musical skills they have been developing from earlier classes. Not only will they know how to read and write rhythmic notation they will know which instrument they enjoy most! Three months is spent on piano, then violin and lastly guitar. Essential music concepts will be studied and explored. All students will gain the experience of composing and improvising their own music. The transition into private lessons will be seamless and very exciting! |
