Welcome to the Bloom School woodwind program! Our instructors are university trained as well as seasoned performers. They are well versed in classical as well as jazz and pop styles.

We feel improvisation, even for classical musicians, is a great ear training tool as well as a fabulous way for students to get "off the page" and really hear themselves play. After all, sound and tone quality is the most important part of being a wind player!

While schools are starting wind players earlier and earlier, we feel age 9 is a great time to start. This is due to lung capacity and the overall physical needs of the instrument. Starting too early can result in frustration which results in quitting the instrument. Need help choosing which wind instrument to play? Schedule a trial lesson and our instructors can demonstrate all 3 to help you decide which you may enjoy the most.

Every lesson is augmented by our lessontrack.net system which documents each lessons material online for easy recall at home during the week.

New to Bloom is our Big Bloom Band that is a mixed instrument ensemble open to all levels. This is a fantastic opportunity to play with others and experience all that ensemble playing has to offer to the budding musician.
