The Bloom string program offers instruction for both children and adults. Our instructors are all university trained and are all accomplished performers, playing in many diverse situations from orchestras to renowned DJ's.

Most teachers use a hybrid Suzuki method, combining the Suzuki teaching, literature and tone production with note reading. Every lesson is augmented by our lessontrack.net system which documents each lessons material online for easy recall at home during the week.

We recommend starting violin no earlier than 6. It's important not to start too early- it can frustrate the budding musician and lead to quitting early as well. We want musicians for a lifetime! For those students interested in violin that are 5 or just turning 6, Bloom offers the Music Fundamentals "Pick an Instrument" class. This class will provide an intro to the violin as well as allow the child to learn some fundamental musical concepts that will help make private instrument study positive and exciting. If a student has already had this class and are 5 years old and are really chomping at the bit to start lessons, we recommend trying to wait at least till spring of their Kindergarten year.

We are also really excited to offer The Big Bloom Band, led by one of our violin instructors, that is a mixed instrumental ensemble open to all violin students of all levels. This is a fantastic opportunity to play with others and experience all that ensemble playing has to offer to the budding musician.
